“DCB Autos saved us hundreds of pounds by performing a weld repair on our 15 year-old Audi’s cracked stainless steel catalytic converter. We had been quoted more than £700 by another independent local garage for a genuine stainless replacement, and around £375 for an aftermarket non-stainless replacement. The fitting cost is high because it is a one-piece item and cannot be accessed without removing other parts of the vehicle.
My wife took the car to DCB who quoted us a similar price for the stainless replacement, and around £275 for the same non-stainless option. Given its age and the huge price difference, we opted for the non-stainless aftermarket item. Upon collecting the vehicle she was presented with a bill for £148 by their technician who took the time to explain that the decision was made to weld the catalytic converter instead of fitting an aftermarket item because it was the best repair in terms of maintaining the quality of the vehicle. In our experience, quality matters to DCB Autos and they make decisions that benefit their customers. They are friendly, prompt and polite, and it is reassuring to know we have found a garage we can trust. The repair was carried out on the 10th of November 2016 and is still going strong.”
